Her altar is helping her grieve
We created rest altars in our 6-week Sisterhood recently, to represent both the rested & unrested parts of our lives.
Here’s one woman’s story:
“After suddenly losing my spouse a couple of months ago, I was feeling very overwhelmed and ungrounded with all the uncertainties it now created in my life.
The grief exhaustion hit hard because of how fast my life changed and all the decisions that needed to happen so quickly.
I knew I needed to take some extra time for myself, and Hester's sisterhood provided just that opportunity.
This group has been a safe space for me to just be with my grief, where I could shut down everything else, and let the healing of Yoga Nidra be a sanctuary from the storms around me.
This sacred time allowed my mind and body a chance to rest, and to access emotions needing to be released.
The rest altar practice gave me a place to put the struggles of my grief, which helped release it out of my head and body.
The altar feels alive with energy that I can also work with as my grief changes.”
This woman was quietly processing her grief during the first few weeks of our 6-week sisterhood.
On week 5 she decided to share her rest altar (photo above) and her story.
And it was healing for all of us.
As a rest mentor, I adore these moments.
It’s why I created the 6-Week Rest Sisterhood.
It’s a place where you can be held, even if you just listen and receive rest. There’s nothing you need to say or do, it’s a safe space to just be.
Our next sisterhood starts November 7 and we have spots for 6 more women.
Is one of them yours?
